Where: Gallery Place, 701 7th Street NW, Washington, DC 20001
Time: 3pm-7pm, Monday-Friday
N&HH Rating: 9/10
Go for: Beer, Wine, and Food
Don’t Go for: Cocktails or Mixed Drinks
Location 10/10:Bar Louie is located on the bottom floor of Gallery Place. If you are from DC you know that finding parking close to the Verizon Center is a game of luck. You can either waste 15-20 mins searching for street parking or pay a high fee for using a parking garage therefore if you can, TAKE THE METRO or UBER!
Drink Selection 8/10: If you are a beer or wine lover then Bar Louie is definitely the place for you to order these drinks! $3.25 Draft Beers, $5.25 Wines, $7.25 cocktails. I like mixed drinks and cocktails and although $7.25 could be a good deal for some I personally thought the price was a little up there.
Food Selection 10/10: I was a larger fan of their food selection than I was of their drink offers. Select appetizers (wings, nachos, sliders) and all flat breads are half price. Their was a variety of appetizers to choose from which I greatly appreciated because a girl loves having options to choose from. I ended up splitting the roasted vegetable flatbread with a friend because we were not very hungry, but it gave us about 6 pieces each. The flatbread was very satisfying and tasty for a light bite (order your own flatbread if you are more hungry and looking for something to last you for the night).
Price 9/10: For 2 beers and a flatbread our total came to $13.75 (including tax) which was a little over $6 dollars per person. I thought the price was worth it for the amount of food and beer we got on tap. I personally am used to only paying around $4-5 for cocktails at other venues that I frequent for happy hour which could be why I was a little hesitant to try their mixed drinks for $7.25 (or maybe I am just cheap), but during my next visit I will definitely be giving them a try
Ambiance 10/10: Clean, not crowded, lots of space, good music playlist, lots of televisions.
Service 8/10: Our bartender was pleasant, got our drinks and food out quickly, but seemed a little annoyed at the time it took for us to order but there was barely anyone there at the time so I didn’t feel like there was a need to rush.
